What do our services cost

Medical and Surgical abortion care includes:

• Pre abortion assessment (including ultrasound and blood tests)
• Medical or Surgical abortion
• Any routine follow up
• Contraception (including IUD and Implant fitting) during abortion care episode
• Treatment of sexually transmitted infections identified during abortion care episode

Medical and Surgical abortion care is free of charge for New Zealand residents living in the Mid-Central and Wairarapa regions.

For women who are from other regions of New Zealand or for Non-New Zealand residents the costs are:

• Medical abortion - $950
• Surgical abortion (up to 13 weeks of pregnancy) - $950

* There may also be additional costs from Ultrasound and Laboratory providers.

Other services

The Women's Clinic offers a contraception service to all women at our Palmerston North location (you do not have to have an abortion with us).

Fitting and removal of contraceptive implants and IUD's is free of charge for some women over 23 in the Mid-Central region (please enquire if you are eligible).  For private paying women our costs are as follows:

• Depo Provera $40
• Copper intra-uterine device fitting $160
• Mirena intra-uterine system fitting $160
• Jaydess intra-uterine system fitting $160
• Jadelle fitting $100
• Jadelle removal $160 (replacement with new device included at no extra charge)
• Vasectomy $450
• Private sexual health consultation with clinic doctor $200
